CAMP SAVVY— Plans in Progress!!

Learning flag etiquette

Mission: To improve the lives of children by creating opportunities to learn and practice new skills.

Teaching social skills to kids will help them with:

Communicating effectively Social manners

Problem solving Adapting to different situations

Making and keeping friends Recognizing and utilizing nonverbal cues

Cooperating with others Asking for help when needed

Learning to practice active listening Setting and keeping boundaries

Camp Savvy uses role play, group discussion, and education to increase awareness. We provide a safe environment free from judgement. We offer classes in quilt making, woodworking, car maintenance, fishing, yoga, self-defense, skincare and makeup, dancing, art, and so much more. Children in foster care or with an incarcerated parent often struggle with self-esteem and lack confidence. They are self-critical and feel they are not as good as other kids.

We encourage our campers to dream big and give them the skills to make their dreams come true. We celebrate the success of our campers with a Gala and acknowledgement of their efforts. Campers get to show off their newly learned skills at a Gala where they dress up and attend a formal dinner. Camp Savvy hosts a night of dinner, dancing, and a video showing the campers’ journey while at camp. All campers receive a completion certificate that will be awarded at the Gala. The public is invited to purchase tickets and make donations to Camp Savvy.

And many more plans!
