The Gift of Giving

The Gift of Giving is our premiere event. There are numerous opportunities for underprivileged children to receive gifts at Christmas time, and we make sure each child will receive a gift. The Gift of Giving is an event where we take the child shopping to buy gifts for their caretakers, siblings, and friends. No other charity opportunity is providing these children with the opportunity to give.
We pair each child with an adult shopper, so we really need your volunteer support. In some cases, the child may be a ward of the state and have special requirements.
Volunteer shoppers also have a stipend to take the child to lunch, where your lunch and the child’s lunch is covered by It Takes The Town.
We also look for volunteers to wrap presents, so the children can go home with presents that are wrapped. Otherwise, these presents may never be wrapped. The advantage of this role is that you see the joy of each child in the gifts they’ve picked out for their loved ones.
